Starting at Veteran's Park in La Crescent, the routes wind through the steep bluffs and scenic river valleys, with courses suitable for every ability. Please sign up to help sell pop, water and peanuts during the Applefest Parade! We'll need 3 drivers and 6-9 people to walk along side small tractors with trailers containing pop, water and peanuts. We'll have 3 trailers, 3 Drivers, 2-3 walkers per trailor, working at 3 sections along the parade route. You will need sun protection, good walking shoes and smiling faces! Rotary vests will be provided if you don't have one. Cash Change and cash aprons will be provided. We will all return to Ace Hardware parking lot to put items away after the parade. Thank you! |

La Crescent Rotary will again provide volunteer bartenders for Oktoberfest. Our shift is Thursday, September 24 from 3:30-8:00 p.m. That's the same day and timeframe as the Torchlight Parade and Craft Beer Night, so the crowd is very manageable. We need to provide 20 volunteers. If you can't do the whole shift, sign up and come when you can. It's always a fun time and family and friends are welcome to participate. In exchange for our efforts, the club receives a nice contribution from Oktoberfest as well as all tips generated by our service, which are substantial!

Rotarians across our region are gearing up for something big - the World’s Largest Polio Walk on October 24 and Valley View Rotary will be part of it! District 6250 will join Rotary districts across Region 36 – Rotary Zones 25B & 29. The effort will unite more than 36,620 Rotarians and 964 Rotaractors across 11 states and 2 countries in a powerful demonstration of Rotary’s commitment to a polio-free world. Rotary has been leading the global fight against polio for more than 35 years through its End Polio Now campaign. Thanks to Rotary and its global partners, polio cases have been reduced by more than 99.9%, but the fight continues until every child is protected.
