Events

Drivers will park in parking lot at Kistler Park Aquatic Center; proceed to Breyers to pick up tractors; from there drivers will drive to designated addresses and pick up trailers; then reunite at the Quilin's parking lot; load stock tanks on trailers.  Sellers will park behind Wieser Law Office; proceed to Quillin's parking lot. When drivers arrive with tractors/trailers, sellers will assist in loading ice into stock tanks, and loading pop and water into ice in stock tanks and peanuts into trailer.  There will be three routes: North, Middle, and South.  Each group will depart from Quillin's and proceed to their designated route.  Sales will precede the parade, and continue throughout the Applefest King Parade.  Once the parade has finished, drivers and sellers will return to Quillin's parking lot and assist in returning any unused products to Quillins.

Thursday night is Rotary Bartending Night at the South Side Fest Grounds!

We need to fill 25 bartending spots for this night. It is really just one shift and everyone needs to be there for the 4.5 hours.  

Arrive at the front gate between  7pm and 7:20.  and the volunteer staff will escort us to our work area. 

Meet at 10AM in the parking lot behind Wieser Law Office.  There will be three groups of 5 people: one grroup to go north on Hwy 14/62, one to go east on the Causeway, and one to go east on the Wagon Wheel trail.  Trash from the Wagon Wheel trail must be brought to the trail head by the brush drop off site, or to the highway for pickup.

Flowers will be ordered on Friday, October 7th.  Please provide event chair Monica Holman with your orders by that date. Cost is $20 per dozen.  Roses will be red, with greenery and babys breath added.  Each Rotarian is asked to sell 10 dozen roses.  Roses will be delivered to the La Crescent Chamber of Commerce between 1 and 5 PM on Wednesday, October 26th.  If a club members wishes not to sell roses, we ask for a $125 donation to the club.  Checks should be made out to La Crescent Rotary. 

iFeed is a one-day event that works to alleviate hunger in the world and in our own communities. It is organized by seven area high school Interact Clubs and their Rotarian advisors. 

iFeed has two parts: 

Part 1 involves packing highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice meals in assembly line-fashion. This year, these meals will be shipped to Poland for Ukrainian refugees. If you've ever participated, you know how much energy and fun happens in the Logan gym that Saturday morning!

Part 2 involves collecting non-perishable food items in the weeks leading up to iFeed and then bringing the collections to Logan High on the day of the event. The food items are then counted, sorted and trucked to the Hunger Task Force where the food will be distributed to Coulee Region food banks. This is HTF's largest food drive of the year and they really rely on our efforts. Which Rotary club will donate the most non-perishable food items!?

Social at 5:30. Dinner at 6:00. Games and social time at 7:00. Gift exchange -  $20 minimum.  There will also be a food drive for the La Crescent Food Shelf

We will gather in the area to the west of the bar; this area will be reserved for the Rotary Club or La Crescent.  Individual members will pay for their own meal and drinks.  Spouses and significant others are encouraged to attend.  Trivia Night at Swing Bridge Pub - maybe we can enter a Rotary Team?.

Semcac has contacted our club with a request to help with their Senior Dining program.  Currently they do not have anyone to deliver their meals on Thursdays. Deliveries would start this Thursday, February 2nd.

Times for the deliveries are from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Drivers would pick up the directions and the bagged meals at the back door of the La Crescent Community Center.  There are 15 people on the route.

February club service event:  assemble valentines for residents of the La Crescent Nursing Home, Springbrook Village in La Crescent, and ABLE incorporated clients. We will meet at the La Crescent Community Building, 336 S. 1st Street in La Crescent.  This will be a potluck event.  BYOB.  The club will provide valentine cards which we will write in and sign. These will be delivered by club members to the recipients.  This will be the first time we have done this event, but hopefully this will become a February tradition for the Rotary Club of La Crescent
